Lightning   Forked Lightning

All my digital images are updated to JPG using MS Paint. Which I also use to add text to digital images and photos. This one is my interpretation of a stormy night.

Moonlight   Moonlight Sea

Here, I’ve experimented with using contrasts and different bands of colour to create depth and distance.

Moonlight Waters   Shades of Purple

Moonlight waters in one colour using darker and lighter shades to add variety.

FP Sky sea   Shades of Blue

A summer seascape again using one colour but different shades to create effect.

Cumulus Clouds   Tropical Sunset

A tropical sunset painted with Sketchbook and edited with MS Paint.

Smoky Sunset   Smokey Sunset

Smokey Sunset inspired by a visit to the beach on the evening of a severe bushfire which left a thick haze of smoke over the ocean.

Seashore   Stormy Waters

Could this be a rainbow over the sea?

super-moon   Super Moon

On the 18th of November, 2016, the Moon was at its closest point to the Earth. Creating a spectacle known as a super-moon. I was able to look at the sight shortly after the moon arose, and then at 2.30 am the following morning when it was so bright that I couldn’t look directly at it for more than a few seconds. I used Word Insert Shapes to create the disks, enlarged the page and took a screenshot which I edited as a jpg. image. I then used Sketchbook to complete the picture which I’ve designed to reflect my memory of what I saw that night.

bayview   Bayview

Bayview is my interpretation of the scene to the north of the Point Peron carpark. I’ve used Artrage airbrush on canvas to obtain this effect.

  Gracetown Road

Gracetown Road is based on a photo taken when I lived at Margaret River in the South West of Western Australia. The Gracetown Road road drops very steeply from the hills down to the ocean before taking a sharp left turn to the hamlet of Gracetown which is a well-known surfing spot. On one of our visits, we saw whales frolicking in the sea just out from the rocks.

  Jurien Bay

This is a sheltered swimming spot next to the breakwater at Jurien Bay in Western Australia. The water is quite deep toward the end of the breakwater. Rock fishers fish for whiting at the end of the breakwater early in the morning when the sea is calm.

Jet trail in a clear Hamilton Victoria autumn morning sky. I was amazed at how straight and clear it was. Used Sketchbook to reproduce the image.

Grampians wildfire sends a blanket of smoke over Hamilton causing a halo around the afternoon sun.

Huge Southern Ocean waves rolling toward the breakwater at Warrnambool March 2025. Spray drenched our car parked in the carpark 50 metres away. By the time we got back to Hamilton the water had evaporated leaving a thick salt crust which had to be hosed off immediately.
